Today you turn six and you are thrilled! As excited as you are for today, it's a bittersweet day for me. I love watching you grow up, but, as always, it seems to happen so quickly. Some days, I feel like I blinked and you went from a baby to a six-year-old.
Wow, five was a big year for you. This past year, you started and finished kindergarten, learned how to ride a two-wheel bike, learned how to swim, lost your first tooth and started to read.
While putting you to bed last night, I asked you your favorite thing that happened while you were five. In true Avery fashion, you said, "Spending time with my family". Your response is what I love most about you, sweet girl. You are kind, caring, thoughtful and sensitive. You love making people happy. You are shy around new people, but outgoing around your family and friends.
You recently started playing with your American Girl doll and other typical "girl" toys, but still prefer getting dirty and playing outside. Most days, you wake up, get dressed and immediately ask when you can knock on the neighbors' doors to play. You are always on the go.
I can't wait to see what six has in store for you, Avery. I just know it's going to be a great year!
Happy Birthday, Avery! Mommy and Daddy love you more than you could ever know!
Love,
Mommy
