Ugh...

The Musselman household has been sick lately. It all started last Thursday night. Luke was out of town and I was about to head to bed when Avery woke up screaming. I thought nothing of this as I headed to her room to put her pacifier back in her mouth. Unfortunately, she needed a little more than a pacifier. Avery had caught her first case of the stomach flu. It was awful! I felt so bad for my poor little girl. I immediately scooped up my little girl to comfort her and give her a much needed bath. Next, I stripped her sheets and decided to put her back to sleep in her swing. The swing lasted about five minutes before it was covered in vomit at well. This called for yet another bath and the replacement of sheets on Avery's crib. Flash forward two hours, six baths and every sheet in the house and my little angel was peacefully sleeping in her bed. I used the baby monitor for the first time, but still didn't sleep at all because I was worried Avery would get sick and aspirate. By morning, Avery was starting to feel a little better. She began eating, but spent most of the day sleeping. I have never felt more helpless in my life.

By Sunday morning, I was starting to feel a little under the weather, but decided it was just because I needed something healthy to eat to soak up all the butter and sugar from the cinnamon rolls I made for Valentine's Day breakfast. By Sunday afternoon, I was spending the better part of an hour throwing up my healthy salad in the Dillard's bathroom. I spent Sunday afternoon and evening getting sick and running a fever. When it was time for Luke to go to bed, I suggested sleeping in one of the guest bedrooms. He declined and said that he, "never gets sick." That was the kiss of death. Luke woke up around midnight asking if my stomach was really crampy. Two hours later, he was on the bathroom floor.

On Monday morning, we were both running fevers and feeling like we had been run over by a car. We took Avery to daycare the earliest she had ever been and didn't even bother to change her out of her pajamas. Luckily, some good friends, The Kinney's, offered to keep Avery for us last night. It was a lifesaver. Luke woke up feeling 100% this morning. I'm a little jealous as I am still running a temp, but beginning to feel better.

Here is a belated Valentine's Day picture of my two loves. Aren't they cute?

And a couple of my sweet angel. Enjoy!
